Opium: Diary of a Madwoman

I picked this film up when I was in Hungary recently. I’ve been wanting to see it for a while as it stars a friend of mine, Géza Szollosi, who is also the art director. Géza was also the art director for Taxidermia, so expect to be in for a macabre treat.

The film is based on a story by one of my favourite Hungarian writers, Géza Csáth, who writes these wonderfully dark short stories that tend to end rather unpleasantly.

I’ll be watching this one tonight, so watch this space for a review.
